What Customers Say About V-Tech LS6125-2 DECT 6.0 Two Handset Cordless Answering System with Caller ID (Silver/Black):

It increases cost a bit and sure, it'd be nice to be able to buy just the main unit, but it's not enough to be a dealbreaker.I've found so far that it's a great phone. Between these two phones I don't even have to yell anymore. I didn't really need a two handset system, as I live in a very small house and I'm not handicapped, but it seems most good cordless varieties come this way, so that was a small, negligible factor. In the end this one looked like it had the most positive reviews and the features I was looking for. I did a lot of research on cordless phones when my less than 1-year-old Motorola started giving me terrible service and the batteries died much too quickly. Handset battery makes clear sounds that it is dying, even if you're on the phone (although the first time I used it at the end of the battery, it didn't for some reason, but subsequent uses at end of battery life were well-beeped).My only issue is a good one, really -- it took some time getting used to, but the 6.0 sound is so clear and so static- or distortion-free that at times, if no one is talking, I think the phone has gone dead. It has outstanding volume even on speakerphone and my father, using his new phone for hearing impaired folks, hears me even better now with this phone. I don't have caller ID so I can't speak to those features. One of the main concerns I had was the keypad, and if dialing would be a challenge without spacing in between keys -- the keys are excellently seated and I have had no trouble using the keypad.

It's so thin and lightweight that it's a pleasure to hold (although a lot harder to put between your shoulder and chin if you have to use your hands). The answering machine is outstanding, and offers the number of calls, which was a major point in my decision to buy -- I'm amazed at how few phone/answering machines don't show the number of calls on the recording. The battery is still pretty long-lived, and I can leave it off charge for quite a few days without a recharge. (Why is it that Motorola makes such superb cell phones but not cordless ones). The blue backlighting is pleasant and easy to read, and the phone itself is really pretty stylish and modern. I've had it for about five months or so. I don't talk for long periods of time for the most part, but the few lengthy uses have not run the battery down any faster than I would expect. Audio is crisp and clear, and buttons are all self-explanatory and programming is easy to figure out. It really freaked me out at first, thinking it had just died in the middle of an important conversation, but once you get used to the clarity, you won't want to go back to older cordless frequencies.

To find a phone numbers in memory start at first number till you find number you need. Purchase was to replace answer phone that was getting interference from wireless computers and printer, the phones did that. The speaker quality is good but comparing to the Panasonic it replaced, liked the Panasonic little better, but the vtech's are very good, also vtech speaker phone volume and control is very good. The OFF and CLEAR button, colored red, are difficult to read in normal light, do not remember having this degree of problem with same model of vtech's with three phones purchased previously. Yes I like the vtech phones.

Am delighted with this cordless phone - excellent sound, by far the best cordless system I have ever purchased.

That makes it very hard to use for conference calls where you want to roam the house hands-free. I've had this for a few weeks now. Second, the speakerphone works fine when conversing with just one person. Seems like a pretty good phone with two exceptions. First, I can not find any way to hook up a headset. However on work conference calls where other people are on speakerphone this phone fades in and out. That went away when I switched back to regular handset mode.

That included a Motorola set that cost more. I've had this set for probably two years, first one that came out for DECT6.0 I think. These handsets have good clear sound. My only complaint is the battery charge duration could be a little better. I had 3 other sets before this one, and all of them would sporadically screech or squeal, and had fair sound quality at best. I'm buying another because it seems the base took a power surge and just doesn't work right any longer. :(
